Olympus Pay Proprietary Limited

Olympus Pay Proprietary Limited is an admitted member of the Bank of Botswana Regulatory Sandbox, operating as a Digital Bank under sandbox conditions.
What sandbox status means
Olympus operates within conditions approved and supervised by the Bank of Botswana. Under the Terms, a maximum single transaction of BWP 5,000 and a maximum account balance of BWP 20,000 by regulatory directive, to be revised over time. Check the current Terms for the figures that apply now.
The compliance programme.
KYC and KYB
Government ID and biometric selfie for individuals. Business details, directors, shareholders and source of funds for companies, with beneficial owners verified individually.
Identity
Biometric verification with an approved provider, and device signals on sign-in.
AML/CFT/CPF
Programme aligned to Botswana’s Financial Intelligence Act, 2022. Activity that breaches it is prohibited under our Terms.
Sanctions screening
Screening against OFAC, UN, EU and local sanctions lists.
Transaction monitoring
Transactions at or above BWP 10,000, electronic or international, are flagged for eventual reporting to the Financial Intelligence Agency. Flagged means reviewed, not blocked.
Data protection
Personal data handled in line with the Data Protection Act 2024. Records retained at least seven years after account closure where regulation requires.

Trigger
Verification result, a monitoring rule or a suspicion raised.
Review
A person looks at the case. Nothing is auto-approved or silently blocked.
Decision
Approve, request more information, hold or escalate.
Record
The decision and reasoning are kept for audit.
